Description:

An antique, unopened, and sealed 1.5-liter bottle of Saint-Vivant de la Salle Exposition Universelle 1937 French V.S.O.P. ("very superior old pale") Armagnac brandy. This particular batch was produced to commemorate the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne ("International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life"), or Paris International Exposition, held in Paris, France, May to November 1937, and which featured, among other wonders, the first exhibition of Pablo Picasso's famous painting, "Guernica." The bottle features a unique Modernist design in green glass with a tilted neck, and still retaining its cork and partial wax seal at the top. Additionally, it bears a black wax figural relief medallion and a partially intact label on the front, embossed with "EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1937."

Dimensions: 9.5 X 4.5 X 4.5 in.

Condition: Good to fair overall antique condition moderate wear, with toning and losses to labels. The decanter contents having evidence of evaporation. Estate fresh to the market. PLEASE NOTE: The container has a value that exceeds the current retail price of the fluid within. Sold for decorative purposes ONLY, the seller makes no claims as to the potability of the contents, and does not recommend them for consumption; please bid accordingly.
